COVID-19 - Protecting Residents & Staff

During the Covid-19 pandemic the owners corporation needs to take whatever action is necessary to comply with advice and directions of Government officials, as well as health laws; and do what is otherwise reasonably necessary to protect their scheme owners, residents and visitors.

With these requirements in mind the Strata Committee has agreed the following rules and process changes. This is not a complete list and may change as further information is advised. This list builds on the existing communications made by Building Management.

Herd immunity - Could it work?

Sweden opted to closed down only major mass events. Schools, restaurants and businesses were largely unrestricted and aimed for ‘Herd Immunity’. What does it take to get there?

Masks - How effective are they?

Coughs or sneezes can propel droplets farther than 2 meters. As of April 22, 51 countries mandate using masks in public. If 60% of us wear masks which are 60% effective, we could stop the epidemic.

CovidSafe App

Downloading this app is voluntary and will speed up the contract-tracing process by days. It notifies you if you’ve been within 1.5 m of another Covid case for at least 15 minutes over the past 21 days. It gives you an early warning. Likewise, if you get Covid it warns others to seek testing and treatment.

Anyone with Mild Covid Symptoms can be Tested

As of 24 April, anyone with respiratory symptoms or unexplained fever can be tested for Covid-19 The closest Covid Clinic is Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards, 8 am - 8 pm, 7 days.
